Yes, I assure you all that I am, in fact, still alive. (Not that you could tell, really, from having only posted twice so far this month.) Life has been picking up a serious case of the busy over the last few weeks, and I can't remember the last time I've had some free time when I didn't feel like collapsing in a puddle on the floor. There are some of you out there that I really need to catch up with, and I'm real sorry that I've been hard to reach. (arabella23 and thecommanderdia are at the top of that list, followed closely by talentedhands.) I'm not sure when things are going to clear up any time soon either, but I promise I haven't forgotten anyone.
This weekend is going to be a complete wash for me, by the way. It's the October Rehearsal Weekend for Revels and the 30th AnniversAle for the Foggs at the same time. Since it looks like I'm not going to figure out how to clone myself in the next 45 minutes or so, I won't be able to do both at the same time. *sigh* So it'll be rehearsal all day today, a morris dancer party tonight, costume fitting tomorrow around noon and then off downtown to find the team and finish the walking tour with them until I drop.
As an aside, I received my baldrics last night!
As another aside, it turns out that my old job here in Silver Spring has just opened up again. I need to decide whether or not to present myself as a candidate for it... As I was telling my boss, there are some burned bridges there that might be better off left as they are. Either way, I'm going to be spending Wednesday back in my old office helping out the person who trained me in the first place. I'll probably find out more then.
That's all I have time for now... Off to rehearsal!
It has already been proven that you can catch a cold through LJ.
Apparently, I have somehow gotten devreux's sore throat.
Blarg. :-(
I just spent the last *coughcough* hours reading some pretty amazing stuff online, courtesy of curiousangel.
It's now past 1 AM, and I'm off to bed. If I had to make a guess, the vast majority of those of you who read my blog are already asleep by now or will be heading there shortly. It is, however, worthwhile to stop for a moment and think about those people who will not be getting any sleep tonight -- the people who give up cuddling up against their loved ones in the wee dark hours so that they can be there for us when we need them the most.
Here, then, is a night in the life of a police officer, an ambulance driver and an ER nurse.
This might very well be the best writing project I've seen on the internet.
I just realized something. Yesterday, within a 12 hour period, I re-posted links from the blogs of all three Erins. Curiously, none of the three know either of the other two, yet my relationship with each one embodies certain very important parts of my life.
There's something very deep there.
Either that, or I need to get more sleep instead of staying up all night reading webcomics that everyone else already has read.
("'Ego Post?' It's a blog... Isn't that redundant?" -Teh Geek.)
It has come to my attention that my earlier post about "WillItBlend?" has caught on, after a fashion, and the link has been reposted by two other people. (The Indomitable Ms. Palette and the Incomparable Ms. Devreux, to be precise.) This marks the first time that something on my blog has been reposted by anyone. I know it's kinda lame, but this amuses me to no end.
That is all. (And thanks for reading Music of the Spheres!)
